Wool applique is an easy to learn craft. Because the wool is felted (washed) it does not fray so you do not need to turn the edge under. There are two methods employed by designers. Fusing the wool or using freezer paper to create your wool piece for applique. The wool applique can be placed on a wool, flannel or cotton background. Once the wool is on the background you then embellish the piece with embroidery stitches. The most common stitch used to secure the wool applique to the background is the blanket stitch.
