Technique Workshops

Orientation - Cost $5 (Required for all beginners)
This is a necessary pre-requisite for any of our beginner classes. If you have never taken a class and are new to the quilting world or you just need to brush up on your cutting skills this is the class for you. Learn all about the rotary cutter, mat and ruler. Practice before your class starts so your comfortable cutting fabric. Also enjoy 30% off any rotary cutter, mat and long ruler (new students only).

Binding By Machine -Cost $24 + supplies
Some people love hand sewing their quilt bindings down, others like me, equate it to dental surgery. Brenda creates some of the most beautiful quilts I have seen and her bindings are completely sewn on the machine, no hand sewing. You have to see this great technique. Great class for a beginner.

Machine Quilting Series -Cost $24 each class + supplies
Beginning Machine Quilting - Learn the basics so you can quilt your completed quilt tops. Brenda teaches you about different threads, needles and quilting feet. Learn to use your walking foot and free motion foot. Brenda will show you the correct way to prepare the "quilt sandwich" for quilting.
Advanced Machine Quilting -Marking - Marking your quilt with a quilting design can be a challenge. Brenda will demonstrate several techniques for successfully marking your quilt. Pre-requisite, beginning machine quilting.
Advanced Machine Quilting -Feathers - Enhance the beauty of your quilt with feather borders and block centers. Pre-requisite, beginning machine quilting.
Advanced Machine Quilting -Backgrounds - Learn stippling, meandering and beautiful background fill stitches that will enhance your quilt blocks. Pre-requisite, beginning machine quilting.

Mod Podge Floorquilts -Cost $35 + supplies
Fabric decoupage floorcloths -No sew fun! We became fascinated by these awesome floor quilts over a year ago when we were at Quilt Market in Portland. Now we have finally brought you this very cool tech-nique. Raid your stash! Turn your favorite fabrics and quilt patterns into durable, walkable art. We'll be us-ing just a charm pack, some Gesso, Mod Podge, and floor canvas. You'll be hooked in no time. Sign up early class size is limited to 4 students. All are welcome!

Rolled Pillowcase -Cost $15
This a great hands on class to make a super quick, super easy and super clever pillowcase, and no raw seems. Who doesn't need a pillowcase, it's the perfect gift! Beginners welcome.

Intro to Paintstiks -Cost $15 + any practice fabrics
Take a couple hours out of your day and come play with painting on fabrics. This fun medium will introduce you to the latest art quilt techniques using Shiva paintstiks, rubbing plates and endless design possibilities.

It's A Wrap -Cost $15 + supplies
Back by popular demand! Learn how to make a cool fabric bowl using your scraps of fabric and ordinary clothesline. Some sewing experience helpful.
