Technique Workshops

Orientation - Cost $5 (Required for all beginners)
This is a necessary pre-requisite for any of our beginner classes. If you have never taken a class and are new to the quilting world or you just need to brush up on your cutting skills this is the class for you. Learn all about the rotary cutter, mat and ruler. Practice before your class starts so your comfortable cutting fabric. Also enjoy 30% off any rotary cutter, mat and long ruler (new students only).

Rolled Pillowcase - Cost $15 + supplies
This is a great hands-on class to make a super quick, super easy, and super clever pillowcase, with no raw seams. Who doesn't need a pillowcase, it's the perfect gift! Beginners welcome.

Intro to Paintstiks - Cost $10 + any practice fabrics
Take an hour out of your day and come play with painting on fabrics. This fun medium will introduce you to the latest art quilt techniques using Shiva paintstiks, rubbing plates and endless design possibilities.

It's A Wrap - Cost $15 + supplies
Back by popular demand! Learn how to make a cool fabric bowl using your scraps of fabric and ordinary clothesline. Some sewing experience helpful.

Paper Piecing Workshop - Cost $15 + supplies
Learn how fun it is to paper piece with Jean and master foundation piecer Carol Doak. Through Carol's book (apparently Carol is busy this time of year) and Jean's hands-on teaching, you'll find this is your new piecing method of choice. Some sewing experience is helpful.

Silk Ribbon Embroidery 101 - Cost $15 + supplies
Learn the elegant art of silk ribbon embroidery. Much quicker that traditional embroidery, this almost lost art is a great way to embellish almost anything from shirts to quilts.

Needle Felting 101 - Cost $10
It's all the rage, and better yet, it's fun and creative. You'll learn what wool roving is and what tools and tips and tricks you'll need for success.

Intro to Electic Quilt 6 (EQ6) Software - Cost $10
This incredibly full-featured quilt design and drawing program has been especially designed with beginners, as well as advanced designers, in mind. Use it to design quilts, draw blocks, scan fabrics or select form over 20,000 blocks. Use EQ6 to simply try out colors, or print patterns in any size. This is a software you'll never outgrow!
